Following February's fashion week, spring emerges in Central Park ...Crocus leaves...Spectacular light...Drakes and ducks paired two by two. In the blink of an eye, summer will arrive along with one of my favorite things to do in New York City on a summer night Shakespeare in the Park.

Live on location: our spring 2013 photography shoot
On Friday we had an all-day photography shoot in a studio in the Village. We gathered together in a downtown location--our model Nicole, the make-up artist, our stylist, photographer and his assistant--to stage our Spring 2013 shoot. It was hectic and fun and I can't think of a better way to have spent my birthday day (followed by dinner at Gotham.)

Glamour's Women of the Year Awards
"I never dreamed of sharing a stage with Annie Leibovitz and Zaha Hadid, and I never imagined I would have an occasion to wear 40 carat emerald and diamond chandelier earrings." Jenna Lyons, President/Creative Director of J. Crew, after being recognized as one of Glamour’s Women of the Year.
The Glamour Women of the Year Awards celebrated its 28th year this month at New York City's Carnegie Hall. We were honored to be asked to participate by including one of our products in the gift bag. This is one of the most exciting and inspiring events a girl could ever go to and this year's prestigious by-invitation-only ceremony honored an impressive range of female achievements in the fields of law, health, fashion, philanthropy sports, art and architecture. Among the ten honorees were Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, photographer Annie Liebowitz, comedic newcomer Lena Dunham of the show “Girls,” and acclaimed architect Zaha Hadid. An equally awesome array of presenters included Chelsea Handler, Ethan Hawke, Anna Wintour, Diane von Furstenberg, Chelsea Clinton, Pharrell Williams and Mary J. Blige. Cynthia Nixon paid tribute to Nora Ephron with Meryl Streep’s daughters Mamie and Grace Gummer. Additionally, Newark Mayor Cory Booker took the stage at the beginning of the ceremony to honor an array of female rescue workers who aided the East Coast in the wake of super storm Sandy. American Idol’s Philip Phillips closed the ceremony with his hit song “Home.” The night was in a word phenomenal. The women and the stories they shared were inspirational, moving, funny and we felt extremely lucky and humbled to be able to attend and be a part of this wonderful event.

... and they both said, "I Do!"
This stunning bride, Shauna Lazzaro, married Patrick Kauth in Saratoga, New York this weekend. Home to thoroughbreds and restorative hot springs, Saratoga is the perfect historic venue for such an historic event. The ceremony was held in Congress Park and Julie Collection was in attendance. Lauren Seedorf, a member of our team, attended as a bridesmaid and also represented was Julie Collection's Anna clutch, carried by the bride throughout the evening. It was the perfect shimmery detail to her strapless wedding gown and it's featured in the September issue Martha Stewart's Weddings. Both Shauna and Patrick are natives of New York. The groom was raised in Saratoga and the bride in South Salem. They met in dual ad sales careers which these adventurers escaped to roam the world for a year and a half together--honeymoon first, marriage later!
Greetings From Jaipur
I am residing in a palace apartment at the Rambagh Palace, former residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur, located in the center of the city of Jaipur in Rajasthan amidst a acres of manicured gardens enjoyed by strutting peacocks! Love the Rambagh for its spa--a series of permanent tents with musicians playing in the various courtyards and, at the center, a gorgeous olympic indoor pool. On the grounds is my favorite restaurant in the city called Steam, a converted nineteenth century train, including the engine car and several passenger cars outfitted with banquettes and enormous pillows and coffee tables where you lay back, eat well, and have the time of your life with close local friends.
